title: GitLab server upgrade

Hi friends,

today i upgraded our GitLab server at https://socialg.it. It has now **4 GB of memory and 2 CPUs** (instead of 2 GB memory and only 1 thread). This hardware upgrade happened because GitLab was using up a lot of memory and it felt quite slow all the time ([here](https://socialg.it/socialnerds/gitlab_issues/issues/3) we track the issue). The recommended size is also 4 GB. This doubles the cost with [our hoster](https://cloudhostr.co.uk) but i think it might be worth it.

Also [GitLab 9.0](https://about.gitlab.com/2017/03/22/gitlab-9-0-released/) was released today so i upgraded the software as well.
